Frequently Asked Questions
Is the initial consultation free?
Absolutely! Not only is it vitally important for me to get to know you personally but I also want you to be totally relaxed and comfortable as you and your fiancé make an informed decision about how I can help transform your dreams of a beautiful wedding into reality.
Why do you charge 10% of the overall wedding budget in package II?
The general budget of any wedding is a good estimate of the scale of work involved. By charging a percentage of the wedding budget I guarantee my services throughout the entire planning process for as much time as needed to meet all the requirements of your event. We won't need to worry about hours logged or minutes on the phone and I am completely free to serve you in any and every way you need throughout the entire planning process.
What does the 'Wedding Day Emergency Kit' include and is it free?
The 'Wedding Day Emergency Kit' is included with both of my packages at no extra charge and I have designed a kit for each side of the aisle (the groom and his party as well as the bride and her party). The kit will be available as soon as the 'getting ready' portion of the day begins. It includes things like a sewing kit, garment tape, water, simple snacks, iced coffee, a first aid kit, stain removers and some other important must haves. Please feel free to use whatever you need throughout the day.
Why do you take pictures during the day of the wedding?
I take pride in each and every wedding I design and love to document the details that make your day extra special. This way I can integrate great ideas into future weddings to help make another bride's perfect day.
Why do I need a wedding planner if the venue has a location event manager?
I specialize in understanding the entire wedding industry in Colorado Springs and bring my organizational expertise to you before you arrive at the venue, during your event, and after you've left the venue. A location event manager may seem like a cheap way to get some help, but their expertise is typically limited to their home location. They will rarely assist in decisions such as floral, attire, ceremony process, décor, hotel recommendations, transportation, make-up, hair, jewelry, or catering, just to name a few of the many components of a typical wedding. As your wedding planner I consider it a joy and an honor to come alongside and be your friend and advocate throughout the entire process.
