Sean and Grace

Let me start off by saying this couple was AMAZING. Not only were they beautiful and a joy to work with they were also so helpful and incredibly organized which always makes my job easier. This wedding was loaded with great ideas, budget tips, as well as timeless elegant touches that you can expect to see in future blogs but for now I'd like to give you some of the highlights and my favorite parts of the day.

As is the case with most weddings, this day was inspired by the bride's vision and her commitment to making sure I clearly understood what her mind's-eye saw for the day. This is one of the most important parts to wedding planning when you hire a coordinator. Grace was full of beautiful ideas and as you can see from the photos, she is one classy lady.

The wedding took place at the beautiful Perry Park Country Club in Larkspur, CO. Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Front Range, we were offered an exquisite backdrop complete with rolling hills, a lake and rock formations. Brian, the manager on site, was not only helpful but was constantly available if anything additional was needed and he went out of his way to give us things like last minute orders of food for the bridal party and even additional decorations for the get-away car! He and his staff were amazing during the reception and throughout dinner there was never an empty glass!

Our other amazing vendors who truly went above and beyond and helped make this wedding so elegant include:
Flowers- Beautiful Expressions
Cake- Sweet Pea Cake Co.
Makeup- Essie from Dillards
Bridal Gown Bustle Alterations- Something New Boutique

This celebration was all about Sean and Grace and the journey that brought them together! The colors, on this early spring day, were vibrant and classic as we were surrounded by ivory, teal, and fuchsia. These were accented with red, black, and lime green as seen in the table linens, the papery, and the Hypericum berries, as well as the flower petals that elegantly decorated the ceremony and table centerpieces.

But weddings aren't all about colors and decorations. The people at this intimate gathering were what made it so moving and special. I knew it was going to be a great day when attendants were walking up to me during the rehearsal offering there help in any way needed. On the morning of the wedding, before I knew it, there was a groomsman setting up chairs and later a bridesmaid making sure Grace's getaway bag was ready for her. The family was so laid back and helpful through out the day as well and I truly could not have made Grace's vision for her wedding happen without their help and availability to me as the day progressed. It was awesome!

Sean and Grace, again thank you so much for the opportunity to serve you on your truly beautiful day! Your testimony to love, unity, and faith in God is one that touched my heart as well as all the friends and family that surrounded you! Have a great honeymoon and pamper yourself, you deserve it!

Outdoor Weddings

Yesterday as I was helping a client 'hide' her wedding dress, until the big day, she had an 'Ah Ha!' moment. We were talking about some of the final details for her wedding, which is less than 2 weeks away! She's getting married outside in the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Larkspur, Colorado. She and I were discussing the weather and how unpredictable Colorado can be, in March especially. Rightfully so, she has a ceremony location alternative in case snow, rain or lightening appear as unwelcome guests at her wedding.

One component of her ceremony involves flower petals sprinkled in an elegant fashion down the aisle. We decided to come up with an alternative, in the event of wind, and after a few suggestions she had an 'Ah Ha!' moment when she said, "I love it! That's what we're doing instead! Let's plan on it!"

So to compensate for unpredictable Colorado wind we will be passing out small packets of flower petals to each guest as they are given their ceremony program. Or we may ornately lay the packets of petals on strategic seats with a small river rock tucked inside each to keep the wind at bay. As my clients head down the aisle after their first kiss they will be blanketed with these petals as the guests toss them in congratulations.

If you're having an outdoor wedding in the upcoming months don't forget to think about your most unpredictable guest, 'Mother Nature.' Be sure to have a plan in the event of inclement weather and even if the weather looks clear and sunny don't forget to account for the temperature as well as the wind. You'll save yourself, your family, and your guests the stress of having to make a quick decision, that may result in a less-than-ideal situation, on one of the most memorable days of your life.
