Sara + Fernando = married

Las Vegas, Nevada - When Sara contacted me a few months ago about doing her wedding, I was excited. Not because I would be going to be back in my home town for it, but actually it was after I went to their wedding website and read about who they were and how they met that I was super excited to meet them. He proposed underwater while scuba diving. How cool and romantic is that?!! It gets better. When I met them on the night of the rehearsal, she told me that her mom made her dress and her veil... wow! Needless to say, the bride looked amazing and both Sara and Fernando had the best smiles through out the entire day.

They had their wedding at a Catholic church on the strip that had amazing stained glass windows and artwork. Their reception was held at the Bellagio and was SO beautiful! The cake (made by Jean Philippe Patisserie which is located in the Bellagio) was stunning. Whomever says Las Vegas only has cheesy weddings needs a reality check!

Here are a few of my favorites:

Fernando and Sara; Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day! It was so beautiful and you both opened your arms and made me feel so welcome! You have a very special relationship and you can tell that so many people around you love and care for you; most flew all this way to see you get married! That says a lot about who you are! The only thing I regret is living so far away from you both; I'm sure we would be good friends. I hope you're having a blast in Hawaii and you better call me in a couple of years when it's time to do newborn photos! Cheers! :)

Aaron, Debi and Sara!

There are just some people out there that when you finish spending time with them, you can't help but leave their presence smiling. I have had the pleasure of knowing this family for the past 3 years and they have been such a blessing in my life. Not only is Debi the most amazing cook, the also all have the gift of hospitality and I never want to go home once I'm there. Unfortunately, they live in Las Vegas and I don't get to see them as much now. I took these photos right before I left and I thought I should post a few. Better late than never!

You three are so missed! Thanks for the good times! We can't wait to see you again in May!

Welcome to the world Madilyn Grace!

I feel stuck here! I'm so antsy and I just want to hop the next flight to Las Vegas. I got the best kind of text message last night; it was a message informing me that little Madilyn had been born. Right before Christmas I did maternity photos for a wonderful friend of mine, Amanda. Last night (on Valentines Day nonetheless!), she got to see her baby girl for the first time. Madilyn Grace was born weighing 8lbs. 7oz. and 19 inches long.

Welcome to the world little girl. May God bless your every step and may you follow Him each and every day of your life. You are an answer to prayer and a blessing to your parents. You are so loved. I can’t wait to meet you.

The Cooks

I hung out with a really cool family last night. What makes them even cooler is that they recently lived in my home state of Oregon before moving back to Las Vegas. We Oregonians have to stick together! It also helps that she works with my husband, but that's besides the point! :) Anyway, Derek and Rebecca have two beautiful kids. Rebecca just had her second child a few weeks before I had my son so I felt a connection with her from the beginning. One thing I admire about their marriage is how well they work together. From communication with one another to their children, they worked together as a team and that's priceless.

We first set a shoot date out at Lake Las Vegas this past weekend, but that happened to be the coldest days in Las Vegas history (or so it felt like it!). So we took some cute shots and then called it a day. I went to their home last night to finish the shoot and we had even more fun. Thanks guys for your patience with this weather. We never know what we're going to get this time of year. I hope you enjoy the photos and I look forward to that play date Rebecca!

The Nelson Family

I love my job. I love my job even more when I get to work with awesome people like the Nelson's. They just had a baby girl, Sloan, a week or so ago and she is precious! We did some family photos and them some of just their little princess. It was a blast. We had a grand finale of photos where we brought in their two huge dogs. They played around a bit and then the dogs were ready to get their photos taken. For dogs the size of people, they were amazingly well behaved. How cool is that!? Anyway, Slade and Courtney you have a beautiful family. And Courtney, you look fantastic! Thanks for having us over for these photos. It was a blast.

Maternity shoot with Amanda & Shaun

Hailing originally from Texas, Amanda and Shaun are an amazing couple who live here in Henderson, Nevada. They are so excited for their new arrival, Madilyn who will make her debut in February. Spend any time with this couple and you'll be laughing. Amanda's laugh is so contagious that one can’t help but have a good time! I know we did. Oh, and they did Madilyn’s room so very cute and it made for some very cute photos that I can’t wait to show them. After the maternity shoot, we headed outside and did some "family" shots with their two pups. So cute! Here are just a few from the shoot.

Thanks Amanda and Shaun for a lovely afternoon and yummy snacks! You're going to be wonderful parents.

Karl & Amy

Las Vegas, NV - My husband and I met Karl and Amy in September of 2006 and we became fast friends. They moved here from Arizona by way of Idaho and were new in town. Karl is a pilot and recently took a job in Colorado Springs, Colorado so we don't get to see them very often anymore but this shoot was a blast because they are such a fun couple! I took this a few months ago, but thought I would post a few since they are so dear to my heart.

Thanks guys! You are missed!

Paul + Brenda = Married

Las Vegas, NV- I had the privilege of shooting the wedding photos for Paul and Brenda the weekend before last. They have an amazing love story and Brenda made a beautiful bride. They are quite involved in the children's ministry at their church (specifically 4th and 5th graders) and had quite a few kids from that ministry in their wedding. It was so special! Here are a few photos that I am excited to share with you.

It couldn’t have been a more perfect wedding. The wind died down before the ceremony began and the sunset was amazing.

Thanks so much Brenda & Paul for including me on your special day!
