There are few other things that make me love my job more than getting to know my clients. When we first meet for coffee to discuss my packages and look over albums, it's then we get a feel for if we're a good match for me to photograph your wedding. I think it's important to find a photographer who fits with your style and needs for your wedding day. I may not fit everyone's needs but for those I do, I try to photograph their wedding as if it was just as important as my own wedding. I love getting to know each couple and how they met. I get to know you more when I do your engagement photos and 6 months or so later, I'm there to photograph your big day. By then, I've known you for close to a year and I'm usually a little emotional seeing you walk down the aisle because it's such a priceless moment (cheesy, but true!). Furthermore, it's exciting when you call me to shoot your maternity photos because you're expecting your first child... and then you text me to say she's arrived and you'd love to have me photograph her first days.

This story isn't the same for every couple I've ever photographed, but these relationships make me so thankful I do what I do. I get to seal moments for you in time through my photographs and through that, I get to experience some of the best moments in a couples life over and over. To me, that's priceless. The story above describes my dear friends that were once "clients". Aubrey and Kurt welcomed their first baby into the world the first week in April and I feel beyond blessed they called me again. Here's baby Paige's first days in the world.

This is my friend Julie. She's a AAHCC Certified Childbirth Educator for The Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth. She's a huge fan of natural childbirth... and really, everything else that is natural too. Right now my husband and I are taking her class to prepare us for the birth of our second son in just a few weeks and it's been awesome! We took different classes through the hospital for our first baby back in 2007, but excited to try this different method this time around.



Not only is Julie our instructor, but first and foremost, she's a priceless friend of mine as is her family. They were the very first family we met when we moved to town and this year especially our families have bonded quite a bit. They are they types of friends that will call last minute for a game night or dinner out, our kids are close to the same age and our husbands get excited over the same types of business. We love it and we love you guys. Thanks for letting me take these. :)

P.S. I did these at 38 weeks pregnant. :) It was a great workout and totally worth it... but baby is still pretty cozy. I'm thinking I'll be late with this one too.

I met Janelle and Josh for the first time a few weeks back when they came into town for a quick visit as well as to do their engagement photos. Janelle lives in Canada. Josh lives in Texas. They are getting married here in Colorado Springs later on this year. They were so much fun to photograph and they were super patient with me as I did this photo shoot at 37 weeks pregnant. Whew! You guys are the best. Looking forward to your wedding! :)

I met Aubrey and Kurt a little under 2 years ago. I entered the location where I bank and was changing my address information with the teller when she asked what I did for work. I told her I was a wedding photographer. She then mentioned she was getting married that following January and was looking for photographers. We decided to meet for coffee so she could look over my work and they decided to hire me. What I didn't know then was that was the beginning to a wonderful friendship with their family and mine. We did their engagement sessions in the summer and fall of 2008. They flew me down to San Diego to photograph their wedding in January of 2009 and my husband officiated their ceremony which was very special! Through the summer of 2009 and between them moving they lived with us for a short period of time which was a fun experience as my two year old son adores them! Now, our dear friends are expecting their first child in just a few short weeks. I'm SO beyond excited for them as they will be wonderful parents. And although I haven't made it public on my blog yet, I'm only 4 weeks behind her in pregnancy -- we're also expecting a baby and I'm 33 week along today and she's 37 weeks in these photos (and she looks fantastic, might I add!!).

That all to say, this couple is very near and dear to my heart. I have built more strong long term friendships with my clients these past few years here in Colorado than any other time in my life and I'm so thankful Kurt and Aubrey are among them. Thank you Aubrey and Kurt for trusting me to document these precious moments in your life. I feel like blessed to be able to watch on the sidelines as your family grows and life continues on. Can't wait to meet your little girl in just a few short weeks. Love you both!
